uAvionix is looking for those that are passionate about aviation, drones, and enjoys troubleshooting electronics. This position would be for general aviation support. You would develop an expertise with our products and help guide customers to the best fit and provide the technical know-how to assist in any technical support for installation of uAvionix products on their aircraft. You will use this product knowledge to help guide our customers to resolutions to issues that they might be having.  This role will work directly with A&P, IA, Qualified Installers, Part 145 Repair shops, and UAS integrators on a regular basis. 

This is an onsite role based out of our Cedar Rapids, Iowa or Columbia Falls, Montana offices.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Capable of technical Training and assisting in drafting Technical Manuals and instructions for integrations.
  • Stay up to date on the most recent Support procedures and uAvionix products.
  • Develop and maintain professional company image to the public and our installer base.
  • Become highly knowledgeable of our products by reading manuals, troubleshooting and testing our product.
  • Lead customers through a series of actions or explanations, either via phone or email until they resolve their technical issue.
  • Know how to install, configure and troubleshoot peripherals, operating systems, and applications.
  • Basic Soldering, electronics, mechanical and assembly skills required.
  • Skilled at documenting test plans, procedures, and reports; verbally directing UAV Operators and Observers during flight tests; capturing system test requirements; recording test failures and reporting test results.
  • Ensure all issues and support tickets are properly tracked through the ticketing system.
  • Submit return authorizations (RMA) when product needs to be returned for replacement or further analysis.
  • Test products that are returned, if applicable.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and other members of the company when needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly, creative thinking, and consultative problem solving.
  • Proficiency with data entry and reporting.
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
  • Able to lift, carry and/or move objects of varying sizes and shapes up to 50 lbs; Required to carry and set up equipment at test site locations.
  • Able to demonstrate good manual dexterity to assemble and disassemble product.
  • Exhibits outstanding professionalism, judgement, and integrity.
  • Proficiency with data entry and reporting.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of UAS Systems (Autopilot, Ground Radio, Airborne Radio, and Ground Control Software.
  • 4-year degree or equivalent real work experience.
  • Be familiar with all regulatory topics under 14 CFR that concern the product being supported.
  • Able to maintain visual line of sight of unmanned air vehicles up to 1 kilometer away.
  • Background in UAS, Avionics or engineering.
  • Part 107 Remote Pilot.

Work Location: Onsite in the Columbia Falls MT, or Cedar Rapid, IA area
